ABOUT PIT CULTURE

Pit Culture is for everyone who knows barbecue is more than a meal. We cover the fires, food, regions, tools and people that make live-fire cooking a culture of its own.

What we're about

THE SMOKE TELLS A STORY.

Barbecue changes by region, fuel, cooker and cook. Texas brisket, Carolina whole hog, Kansas City ribs and Memphis pork each carry a history, and every backyard pitmaster adds another chapter.

Pit Culture brings those worlds together through recipes, techniques, gear testing, restaurant stories and conversations with the people tending the fire.

We feature creators and pitmasters who know the work firsthand: building fires, trimming meat, managing smoke, feeding crowds and learning from the cooks who came before them.

Our goal is simple: help you cook with more confidence, understand where barbecue comes from and find people and places worth following.

Pit Culture is part of the Coffee X Media network, an independent collection of interest-driven destinations built around good stories and the people who make them worth following.
